Training Services
As of 1st April last year, the Private Security Authority took control of the licensing of companies working in the Guarding sector of the Security Industry. It is now an offence for any company to operate without a license from the PSA and it is also an offence for anyone to employ a company that does not hold a license. To gain this license, each company had first to achieve the NSAI, I.S.999.2004 Guarding Services standard and then all directors and management had to submit to Garda vetting procedures which are carried out by a specialist security unit set up in Tipperary town for the sole purpose of vetting the security industry.
On April 1st 2006 they also started the roll out of the licensing of individuals working within the industry and the critical date is April 1st 2007. As of that date it will be an offence to work as a Security officer without a license and also an offence to employ any person as a Security Officer who does not hold a license. The licenses will again be issued by the PSA. Before any person can apply to the PSA for a license they must complete a recognised course of training. Anyone successfully completing the courses we carryout will receive accreditation from both organisations.
The Two courses we provide are as follows:
- Basic Guarding Skills for Industrial, Retail and Commercial Security Officers.
- Door Security Personnel course.
They must then undergo the same garda vetting as mentioned above. It should be noted that the courses do not get you the license but are a prerequisite for application for a licence. For further details you can contact me on 085 1102522.
