VIP Protection: What Can Be Done?

August 5, 2015 Comments Off on VIP Protection: What Can Be Done? By admin

There are many reasons why someone would need protection, as there are many things that occur during the process of important information being transferred. While VIPs are often times seen as presidents, celebrities, and musicians, VIPs also include business owners, as well as high level persons on the internet. For those who are wondering exactly what this kind of protection n is, as well as what kind of VIPs get the protection, here are some things to keep in mind.

What Is This Type Of Protection?

In basic terms, VIP protection is what it sounds like, people or services that pertain to the protection of important persons. This could be a high level business person, a celebrity, or anyone who feels like they may be targeted due to their status in the world. There are a number of reasons why this person would be targeted, be it their role in the world, there money, or their possessions, so these kinds of services are definitely a common thing chosen. While protection services may seem straightforward for cases pertaining to important figures, VIPs that are on the internet or are tied up in the business, are handled in a different way. Here is the guidelines for VIPs that are tied up in internet or business activities.

How Is VIP Protection Handled For Business And Internet?

For business and internet topics, VIP protection is usually handled differently than it would be for other types of protection. For situations involving business, executives of the business (C.E.O.s, Presidents, major Stockholders, etc.) are usually the source of the protection. Since these individuals usually possess valuable information of the business or extreme wealth, it would make sense why they would be targeted by those trying to take everything from them. Business owners arent the only ones targeted, however, as internet users also face these threats, so this service is also made available to them. These internet users are usually those who own businesses, or for those who run companies through the website. They have to hire some sort of service to ensure that their information and assets are secure, as the internet world is sometimes shaky and prone to being hacked. These protection services come in a range of possibilities, it could be a moderator, or it could be other types of protection services. Typically, it is a program on the computer, that monitors and secures the information being processed on the website, making private information hidden to the public eye. This way, only the one with the login information (username and password), is able to gain access to the confidential files and documents that wish to remain untouched. This is important for VIPs who regularly do business online, so that they can rest assure that their information will likely not go into the wrong hands at any time. Though it may cost money on the VIP’s end, it is most likely a service that is worth purchasing

CCTV Cameras – What about the running costs?

July 23, 2015 Comments Off on CCTV Cameras – What about the running costs? By admin

Okay, so we all know CCTV cameras are a lot cheaper now than they were 10 years ago, and you could spend £20-£50 on a reliable home security system. The problem is, many people often forget about the running costs. We’re not just talking about the electric costs of running the camera 24 hours a day—which can be high—we’re also talking about the time spent on organising the footage and wiping the memory from time to time.

Time is money, and that’s especially the case today when we’re all too busy at work. Cheap CCTV units don’t usually have large memory drives, meaning they can only hold several days worth of footage before they need to be looked at or saved to another hard drive. This is obviously no good if you’re going on holiday for a couple of weeks and you want to keep your CCTV cameras running. You may have to pay someone to visit your home to make sure the camera is working as it should, so it may be beneficial to pay a bit more on a unit with a bigger drive and a self-organising function.

Security in the Office

Offices are often equipped with expensive electrical goods such as computers, servers, laptops and projectors, and it’s important to make sure these are well protected. Some agencies clamp their computers to the desks with locking devices, and this is a good option if you have many members of staff, and want to remove the threat of an internal theft.

Of course, that’s just one solution and it’s not really gong to do much to prevent a planned burglary. This is when high security doors and alarms come into play. It’s not very easy for a burglar to make away with thousands of pounds worth of bulky equipment, but the challenge becomes even more difficult if you have high security entrance doors. One computer alone could cost around £2,000 and that is one of the reasons why it’s so important to make sure your goods are protected.

CCTV cameras outside the building and inside the office will be very beneficial too, and these will certainly act as a deterrent.

Mobile Surveillance Monitoring

Mobile surveillance monitoring (MSM) is essentially viewing live information coming from your IP camera or cameras on your mobile device. There are many mobile applications on the market that allow you to connect to your CCTV camera, and it means you can check up on your property wherever you are in the word.

Today it’s quick and easy to get connected. The camera usually connects straight to Wi-Fi and it privately streams the data to your mobile device when you’re securely logged in to an application. This clever technology doesn’t’ come cheap, especially if you’re looking for a high resolution stream, but it can give you peace of mind whilst you’re away from home or work, and it should be looked at as a long-term security investment.

A CCTV camera will act as a deterrent, but if the worst case scenario does happen and your property is broken into, you can save the data on your mobile and send it over to the police before the burglar has even had time to take your goods!

The Problems Associated with Finger Print Security

June 26, 2015 Comments Off on The Problems Associated with Finger Print Security By admin

There’s a lot of hype surrounding fingerprint security systems. Today you’ll find fingerprint technology on touchscreen devices like mobiles and tablets, as well as access control systems and safes.

There are some problems associated with this form of security though. Fingerprints can be obtained from mugs, bar glasses, screens, books and well… almost anything. So it is possible for someone to steal your fingerprint and make a fake finger to get access to your belongings.

Another problem is that it is technically possible for two human beings to have the same fingerprints. Okay it would be pretty rare, no doubt, but it is possible, and that has to be a concern. Some fingerprint sensors can actually be tricked too, and come researchers managed to hack a fingerprint sensor using tracing paper and a printout of the fingerprint. The technology is obviously improving and fingerprint security could be the way forward, but you should always have your wits about you.
